All eight Feeding America–affiliated food banks in New York State have joined together to form the Food Bank Association of New York State to address issues related to feeding the hungry and ending hunger in New York. Lucy Cabrera, President and CEO of the Food Bank For New York City, is a founder and board member of the association. Members include:
Food Bank For New York City

  • Food Bank of Central New York (based in East Syracuse)
  • Food Bank of the Southern Tier (based in Elmira)
  • Food Bank for Westchester (based in Millwood)
  • Food Bank of Western New York (based in Buffalo)
  • Foodlink, Inc. (based in Rochester)

Food Assistance Programs
The Food Bank's network of more than 1,000 food assistance programs throughout the five boroughs includes soup kitchens, food pantries, senior centers, daycare services, Kids Cafes, Open Market BackPack Programs, rehabilitation centers, shelters and youth services.

These programs use the food provided by the Food Bank for preparing nutritious, balanced meals for hungry New Yorkers who otherwise would not get enough to eat — the majority of whom are women, children, seniors, the working poor and people with disabilities.
